Howdy! here with some great news!

I would like to welcome as admin for Prose Submissions!

And I would also like to welcome as our first Critic Admin for prose!

We are still in need of an Admin for Poetry Submission and Critic Admin respectively! Please contact me at my regular account for these two positions.

I also like to thank all the wonderful affiliates we have and always look forward to more clubs/workshops to affiliate with for future collaborations and more.

Joining Guidelines: To join Scribs, simply watch the club and we will return the watch. First time members are also allowed to submit one piece to be featured in the gallery. Also, please spread the word of Scribs, we always look forward to new members, the more the merrier.

Prose Guidelines: All prose submissions must be longer than one page, no short-but-sweet single page stories please. Any genre is allowed, but please be sure to let us know if your piece has any "Mature" content ahead of time. However, in regards to short stories, if the quality is very good despite length, we will feature it.

Poetry Guidelines: All poetry pieces (unless it is Haiku) should be at least four lines long. But please no long Beowulf-esque poetry please.

Submission Guidelines: Simply send a note titled "Submission for Prose" or "Submission for Poetry" to either Admin (Until we get an Admin for Poetry you can send it to my regular account) and we will look it over before putting it in our Gallery. If you like your work to be Critiqued by one of the Critic Admins, please send a note over to them and give specifics on what aspects of story you would like to the Critic to analyze.

CONTEST

Judging from the poll, you all want a contest. This contest is called "Heart of Persona" with the theme of personification. You must write either a prose or poetry piece in one of these three categories in the form of Rounds.

Round 1: Animal (Lion, bear, wolf, etc...)
Round 2: Nature (Flower, storms, wildfire, etc...)
Round 3: Machine (Cellphone, stove, computer, etc...)
Final Round: Any category of choice.

Format
Prose: Must be at least one-two pages.
Poetry: Must be at least 15-20 words.
General: Must be told in the first-person perspective!

Judging is based on four criteria via point system.

Creativity - 30
Originality - 30
Emotion - 30
Vision - 10
Total - 100

For a good idea of how to start on it, I would recommend watching Disney/Pixar movies "The Lion King", "A Bugs Life", "The Brave Little Toaster", "Cars" and "Wall-E" for ideas on personification.

The scoring of your piece will act as your point total in order to advance into the next round.

Because of holiday seasons, this contest and the Animal Round will start on December 1st to December 23rd. Contest will be suspended during the Christmas and New Years break and will resume January 3rd with the verdict, and January 5th for Nature Round.
